Where Did February Go ?
Hello, wow it sure  has  been a while since I have been here, sorry about that .  I have been  having fun playing, and creating cards,  however, I seem to be running into a snag. Some times  my  printer / scanner  is not playing friendly  with  my computer...   LOL   Though I am not laughing , it is  a funny thing...Some days  certain programs   will not operate properly,  especially  my re sizing  one...And I have  made mistakes  in the scanning process or  actually made  a few cards  a bit larger...With that I have several cards  that I cannot share at this time,  maybe some day  : )
So with  that   here I am, in hopes of getting an update  completed  today... Yes I am  computer challenged,  not a techie  at all  so
Wish me luck,please...                                                                                          My first card is a  sympathy card,  I really do not like making these, but today it was easier... while I had the supplies out to make another card I wondered if I could create  a sympathy card  with the same  materials... I used a layer of natural card stock, and  then applied bashful blue  for the water color, I added  seashells and sand  and a  darker  brown ribbon  to  set if off, I mounted that on a Marina Mist  (  by SU ) base, and added a stray starfish  for dimension .
Second is my first card that that I made today and it is a Teapot Tuesday card for some one that loves the beach, and in need of some  happy thoughts.  I love this set, BEAUTIFUL BEACH  by SU... and the ink color of Sahara Sand is so perfect for  the  sand and shells,  and  being  embossed with clear embossing powder really  sets them off.....I used  bashful blue  for the color of the water, on natural card stock, added some cream taffeta ribbon. It is a single layer card  so I added  depth by popping up a single seashell.
These cards are similar , both carry a message  from my heart...
A co blogger  that I respect and admire   "CURT"  at http://curtsplayhouse.blogspot.com
did a post  using a shadow stamp  and made such a beautiful   card.  I remembered  making a card  long ago, with such a stamp,  so I re created it  to see  how I liked mine...  I must say, his  was so much more stunning...  but I am happy that  he inspired me to do something...I hope to try another approach using this idea  very soon, I hope you all go check his out.
Thank you so much  for stopping  by, I hope I  shared something  with you  that  made you smile...  I hope to see you soon

  2. I like how your cards turned out! That is an interesting technique. I like how the seashell and starfish look like they are actually sitting on the sand.

  4. I'm blown away by these two cards Soni! I LOVE the color combo and you certainly capture that sea/sand feel with them. Love how you used the shadow stamp on this. WOW! Thanks so much for the sweet shout out. Your cards are certainly an inspiration for me to look for more ways to use that stamp. Awesome work here Kiddo! Hugs, Curt

  5. Hi Soni! I love the beach and it always brings back warm memories. So I love both of these cards. I think the ink technique worked very well. Cutting out the shells really makes them pop. The sky meets the sand-I don't think it could have been done any better!
