Well My mojo for card making is running low, so I thought I wiuld try to get a couple of summer~ light weight ~ blankets made for my youngest grand daughter . And while I was at it I did my first attempt at making a small" taggie blanket ". It is about 12 x 12, I am hoping this is big enough for her to hold and be content with when she is tired, and then not need a big blanket. She has a habit of liking to cover her head with her blankets ...
Of course my sewing machine decided it did not want to play nicely today, so it took a lot of extra time and attention. But my oldest grandson was helping and we were able to get these done. And I am happy to say I even took time to put my sewing notions in my new sewing basket that one of my grand daughters gave me at Christmas. So it was a day with progress being made in marking things off of my "TO DO" list YIPPEE
Faith wears a lot of bright colors or purple , she just does not wear little girl pastels... So I thought these crinkle materials would be perfect for her in the hot weather .
Thanks for stopping by, maybe this will jump start my card making mojo again...I sure hope so .
Have a blessed day, and I hope to see you here again real soon...Bye now
What fun colors! Your little grandchildren are so blessed. i love that tag blankie. Was it difficult to do? I have one on my to-do list for a friend, but haven't had the time yet.
ReplyDeleteeven with only use in one arm, I did it : ) I am not a line it up, and pin it kind of sewer ... my grandma taught me how she thought things would be easier for me ~ but I did use pins to hold ribbon in place... I was not totally square but it worked : ) NO it was not hard... I put print face down, turned back seam , added folded ribbon, pinned each ribbon, added top piece after folding seam under and stitched on top all of the way around ...pretty easy actually
DeleteSuch cute taggies. Love the bright colors. :) I'm glad she enjoys taggie blankets. :)

So nice that you can sew also. The blankets are darling. Wonder if she will cover her head in her adult life when she sleeps. Funny because I do and so does my daughter. LOL A habit I think we started way early on.
ReplyDeleteMy mom always did... I like to snuggle under covers but not my head ... lol
DeleteIts funny you mention covering her head when she sleeps , my husband and his sister have done so since they were young children. I had never seen a tag blanket before this. it is so cute. you are so lucky to have the talent in sewing to make such pretty things.
ReplyDeleteOh my sewing is not very good I can rarely sew a straight seam... but I have made baby blankets for all of my grand children and many many other babies... I love to give gifts of love ... thank you
